What is the expected dress for worship?
Things have changed a lot over the years. We believe that people should feel comfortable when coming to worship. Don't feel pressured to dress a certain way around us. We're all just trying to come before God as ourselves. You'll see some of us wearing jeans.
What can I expect to take place during the worship service?
We believe that Worship should always be culturally relevant. Today televisions are in almost every home. We see them as a tool to help us connect with people's learning style. That's why we use Power-point and the occasional video clip.
What type of music is used during the service?
Congregational singing, accompanied by instrumental music, is a large component of our service. We sing both older "traditional" hymns, and some of the newer praise choruses. On some occasions solos are performed by some of the musically talented members of our congregation.
When do you hold communion services, and may I participate?
Every Sunday service is a communion service. Jesus said that the bread represents his body and the juice represents his blood, and his followers should do this regularly to remember the sacrifice that He made. Please do feel free to participate in this time of worship. Ours is an "open" communion.
Am I expected to give an offering?
That's between you and God, giving is meant to be a private issue. We do not feel it is right to pressure people to give out of obligation. If you are a guest worshiping with us, the only thing we really want you to put in the offering plate is the tear off strip on the side of your program. However if you feel compelled to give financially we hope it is because you see the value and importance of what we do.
